Office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance leads flag-raising ceremony

15 January 2024| This week’s flag-raising ceremony was led by the Office of the VP for Administration and Finance. It was highlighted by the message of Pastor Chris Salili in celebration of the National Bible Month.

Pastor Salili of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in San Fernando, La Union, shared that physical and material needs are transitory and temporal, but spiritual need is eternal. He reminded everyone to boost their spiritual life by reading the Bible.

Awards received by BSU in 2023 were also presented. These includes the 2023 Outstanding Performance in Research under the Public category, a Plague of Recognition for being an active and valued member of the Cordillera Regional Health Research and Development Consortium (CRHRDC), and Outstanding Mentor in Health Research.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) also handed a Certificate of Recognition to BSU for being the Top 5 Performing School in the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) Elementary Level.

University guests were also acknowledged. They are Monika Didzgalvyte-Bujauske and Asta Kyguoliene of the Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania. Monika and Asta will be lecturing about International Trade on January 16, 2024 at the CHET Function Hall.

A Balik Scientist in the person of Venecio U. Ultra, Jr. will also be welcomed by BSU on January 18, 2024 as he will be the resource speaker on the online seminar titled “Assessment and Mitigation of Heavy Metal Pollution in Agricultural Areas and Food Systems: The Case of Botswana and the Philippines.” This was announced by VP for Research and Extension, Johnny G. Dati, Sr.

Lastly, University President Felipe Salaing Comila welcomed and thanked the visitors for choosing BSU and expressed his hopes for a successful collaboration.//B.Tayaban (UPAO Staff-Intern)
