BSU studes grab Ambassador, VP, PRO seats in PCSMT

Charming the crowd with their intelligence and wit, MMBSU candidates from the College of Natural Sciences (CNS) nabbed the title of Philippine Consortium for Science, Mathematics, and Technology (PCSMT) Ambassador and Ms. Science (first runner-up) in the recently held Science and Technology Youth Leadership Encampment (STYLE) in Rio Villa Nuevo Water Resort, Indang, Cavite this April 17-19, 2024.

Mr. CNS 2023 Tristan Ticbayan was declared PCSMT Ambassador while Ms. CNS First Runner-up 2024 Nikhol Khaye Celestino landed first Runner-up or Ms. Science in the said pageant. Both also won their respective Best in Creative Attire categories with their Cordillera-inspired costumes.

Meanwhile, Lara Busilan from the College of Information Sciences (CIS) was elected Vice President of the PCSMT Student Chapter while Armi-Jay Paragas from the College of Numeracy and Applied Sciences (CNAS) was voted Public Relations Officer (PRO) under the same chapter.

Aside from these major events, the student participants were also immersed in a team-building seminar on the Dominant-Influential-Steady-Cautious (DISC) Personality Styles and a refresher course on United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a pillar to where the consortium stands.

Ticbayan, Busilan, and Paragas will serve for a two-year term for the said national student organization.
