The Center for Culture and the Arts (CCA) conducted its Intercollegiate Socio-Cultural Competition at the College of Human Kinetics (CHK) Function Hall on April 5, 2024. The event goes with the World Earth Day theme: Showcasing our concern for Mother Earth through Arts. After the inauguration of the University Glee Club, CCA Director Leonardo Samonte said the opening remarks with an Indigenous chant welcoming the participants from all campuses of Benguet State University (BSU).

This was followed by a rendition of a classical guitar piece from PASUC contestant Johnraye Gonzalo. In a message, Pres. Felipe Salaing Comilla explained the essence of appreciating, valuing, and performing our own native culture and its arts because no one will truly love the beauty of the Cordilleran culture but the Cordilleran people themselves.

Following his message was a bendian dance performed by the BSU-Kontad and a classical piece played by the BSU-Rondalla.

The visual arts competition was held at the Secondary Laboratory School (SLS) gym, while the competitions for singing and instrumental playing were held at the CHK function hall. According to Samonte, the competition is a university annual event that aims to enrich the talents of BSU students and prepare them for any upcoming socio-cultural competitions such as the Cordillera Administrative Region Association of State Universities and Colleges (CARASUC). 

The program ended with the awarding of certificates for the artists who won in their respective categories: Pencil Rendering - BSU Buguias (1st place), CPAG (2nd place), CTE (3rd place); Charcoal Rendering - BSU Buguias (1st place), CTE (2nd place); On The Spot Poster Making - BSU Buguias (1st place), CHK (2nd place), CAH (3rd place); Painting - BSU Buguias (1st place), artwork no. 3 (2nd place), CE (3rd place); Kundiman - CIS (1st place),CHK (2nd place), CAH (3rd place); Vocal Duet - CTE (1st place), BSU Bokod (2nd place), CAH (3rd place); Pop Solo - CHK (1st place), CIS (2nd place), BSU Bokod (3rd place); Banduria - CA (1st place), CTE ( 2nd place), CHK (3rd place); and Classical Guitar - CAH (1st place),CE (2nd place), CNAS (3rd place). //SS.Salvacio & FC.Labad-dan (BAComm Intern)
