26 MARCH 2024

The Gender and Development Office facilitated Benguet State University’s culmination of its National Women’s Month celebration through a health forum with doc for Juana, a Zumba session, medical service, and GADlympics.

The doc for Juana health forum was led by University Health Services (UHS) and College of Nursing (CN) officials. Dr. Jamel C. Olavidez and Dr. Florence V. Poltic of the UHS talked about breast cancer and cervical cancer while and Jude L. Tayaben of CN talked about the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS).

Afterwards, the participants grooved to the music during the Zumba session led by the College of Human Kinetics (CHK) to promote physical activity and well-being. This was followed by the GADlympics facilitated by the BSU Government Employees Association (BSUGEA). The GADlympics consisted of action-relay games that aimed to promote teamwork and camaraderie among the participants.

The culminating activity demonstrated the university's commitment to recognizing women's achievements and promoting gender equality within the university and the community. //PJGadang
