Winners in Various Events Recognized during FRC

The Benguet State University Library and Information Services hosted this week’s flag-raising ceremony on November 6, 2023, which highlighted the presentation of winners in various events attended by BSU employees and students.

The University representatives bagged awards in three events, including the United Nations Celebration, the 13th Joint Regional Symposium and 6th Regional Student Research Congress on RDE Highlights, and the Nutri-Infomercial Video Contest held in October and November 2023. 

United Nations Celebration

The University participated in the celebration of the United Nations on October 24, 2023, spearheaded by the International Relations Office. The event highlighted various activities such as the UN Parade of Flags, UN Day Quiz Bee, and International Food Lane, participated by students from different colleges.

13th Joint Regional Symposium and 6th Regional Student Research Congress on RDE Highlights

The BSU employees and students emerged as winners during the 13th Joint Cordillera Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Resources Research and Development - Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development Consortium (CorCAARRD-CIEERDeC) Regional Symposium and 6th Regional Student Research Congress on RDE Highlights held on October 24-26, 2023 at Apayao State University Luna Campus.

The participants in the said event presented various programs/projects/research in the fields of agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR), Industry, Engineering, and Emerging Technology (IEET), development, socio-culture, and education.

Nutri-Infomercial Video Contest

Five Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics students from the College of Home Economics and Technology emerged as winners during the Nutri-Infomercial Video Contest for Higher Education Institutes. Students who participated were Jonathan Luke Monoten, Alexter Domocmat, Hazel Grace Gagelonia, Jackielou Hernandez, and Justny B. Deloria.

The event was hosted by the National Nutrition Council CAR with CAR Media Educators on Nutrition (CAR-MENu) and Commission on Higher Education (CHED-CAR).
 

During the FRC, University President Felipe Salaing Comila recognized the achievements of the students and employees and emphasized that such events uplift not just the participants but the university as well. He encouraged everyone to continue uplifting each other and to do their best for their respective sectors. He further shared the importance of entrepreneurship as it provides employment opportunities for everyone, especially for fresh graduates.
