PSU learns best CTE and R&E practices; Mulls research collaboration with BSU

Pangasinan State University (PSU) personnel, headed by Dr. Erwin O. Estrela, visited Benguet State University for a benchmarking activity on October 6, 2023.

The activity aims to acquire insights and adopt best practices and innovations from the College of Teacher Education, the Institute of Social Research and Development, and the Higher Education Regional Research Center. It also aspires to maintain strong ties and learn from each other's best practices, elevating the quality of education and research and having a beneficial and long-term impact on both institutions.

BSU President Felipe Salaing Comila welcomed the visitors at the RDC Hall and gave an inspirational message. He stated that life is a continuous learning process and emphasized the importance of perseverance in reaching one’s goal.

CTE Dean Dr. Divina M. Yango, along with college department chairpersons Assoc. Prof. Evelyn S. Angiwan of the Early Childhood Teacher Education Department and Dr. Emelda E. Villa of the Technology and Livelihood Education Department and Early Childhood Development Center Coordinator Prof. Rosita B. Kudan, shared the best practices on teacher education. Institute of Social Research and Development Director Ms. Ann Heather B. Kiwang also shared the best practices of the University on research.

During their discussion, Dr. Estrela expressed their desire to collaborate with the University in research and other learning initiatives and activities. Possible partnership was then discussed further by the two teams. He also thanked the university and officials for the warm welcome and fruitful discussion on the university’s best practices in the academic and research sectors.

Afterward, the visitors went to the Higher Education Regional Research Center where they learned about the preparations of proposals on educational-related researches, shared by HERRC Director Dr. Janet Lynn M. Balagtey.
