As a part of National Scouting Month this October 2023, more than 30 Scout Officials for a Day (SOFAD) from various schools in Benguet assumed the seats as officials of Benguet State University on October 9, 2023.

After the Girls and Boys Scouts of the Philippines Benguet Council's SOFAD 2023 Turn-over and Opening Program held at Benguet Provincial Office, La Trinidad, Benguet, the scout officials proceeded to the various offices of the university to assume responsibilities as BSU officials and have a learning experience.

In the afternoon, the Scout Officials For-a-Day gathered at the BSU RDC Hall to share their experiences and listened to the inspirational message from BSU President Felipe Salaing Comila. The University President shared that failure is part of life. He then encouraged the scouts to become optimistic as they continue their journey in life. "Keep on, regardless of what kind of life you have today do not be discouraged, life is beautiful tomorrow," he said.

The objective of the SOFAD program is to motivate students to actively participate in public service and education, with a strong emphasis on fostering civic responsibility.
