RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICES AND INSTITUTES


1. Office of Research Services
     The office of the Research Services promotes the generation and utilization of technologies to improve life in general; manage the University experiment farms; and coordinate, monitor, and evaluate research and development activities.

2. Office of Training Services
     The office of the Training Services provides accredited training courses and seminars on various technologies for skills enhancement and greater productivity. These training courses and seminars are availed of for a fee.

3. Northern Philippine Rootcrops Research and Training Center (NPRRTC)
     The Center by virtue of PD No. 1107 is mandated to spearhead, coordinate, and implement the national root crop research, development, and extension programs in Northern Philippines.

4. Horticulture Research and Training Institute (HORTI)
     The Institute spearheads the generation, promotion, and utilization of appropriate technologies or significant information to accelerate and sustain the development of temperate vegetable, fruit, plantation, and ornamental industries as well as to benefit the public with the use of horticultural commodities.

     Established by virtue of PD 2010, it was conceived as a research and development arm of the University to accelerate progress of horticultural enterprises in the Cordillera Region and other highland areas.

5. Institute of Highland Farming Systems and Agroforestry (IHFSA)
     The Institute spearheads the development, dissemination, and utilization of agroforestry, sericulture, and other farming systems technologies for highland farmers. It also spearheads the rejuvenation of old Arabica coffee trees at the Agroforestry Complex located in Ampasit, La Trinidad, Benguet.

6. Semi-Temperate Vegetable Research and Development Center (STVRDC)
     The Center spearheads the generation, dissemination, and utilization of knowledge and technologies on semi-temperate vegetables with economic, social, and environmental advantages to enhance the regional semi-temperate vegetable industry in particular.

7. Institute of Social Research and Development (ISRD)
     The Institute spearheads the conduct of relevant social and educational research, development, and advocacy studies to empower both the highland and lowland communities.
