The Oath Taking

	Dr. Rogelio D. Colting, former Vice President for Research and Extension has assumed the BSU presidentcy effectively July 1. 2003. Earlier, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairman Esther Garcia administered his oath of office las March 15 at the CHED Central Office in Manila, witnessed by the University Board of Regents. He took over Dr. Cipriano C. Consolacion, who retired at age 65.
Dr. Colting, youngest among the applicants at age 52, was selected from three other applicants by the BSU Board of Regents and was confirmed by the Chairman of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Prior to his confirmation, Dr. Colting was ranked first by the Search Committee.      Except for Dr. Ben D. Ladilad, Director of the DOST-CAR, the other applicants are all working in BSU. They are, Dr. Marcos A. Buliyat, Vice President for Acadmic Affairs; and, Dr. Franco T. Bawang, Sr., University Executive Vice President. Before the selection, all the applicants underwent a series of screening processes such as background information, personal interview and a public presentation held at different dates and venues.      The results were all forwarded to the Chairman of the CHED and the members of the BSU Board of Regents as their guide in the final selection.
