The College
of Engineering and Applied Technology (CEAT) was established in 1985
in response to the growing demand for competent professional Agricultural
Engineers to cater to the needs of agriculture and industry in the region
in particular, and the country, in general. Formerly a department under
the College of Agriculture , Engineering and Forestry, it is now a developing
college consisting of two departments: Department of Agricultural Engineering
and Department of Applied Technology. The former offers the five-degree
program in Agricultural Engineering and the latter, short-term trade
technology courses.
In December 1996, under
the able leadership of Engr. John James F. Malamug, the College had
undergone the AACUP Preliminary Survey. On January 7, the following
year, the certificate for level I status was awarded and the College
was given three years to prepare for the formal visit which was held
on December 1-3, 1999 . On the 29 th day of February 2000, the certificate
for level II status was awarded to the College.
| VISION |

| An avenue for the development
of dynamic, responsible and committed citizens. |
| MISSION |
|
Provide professional and technical
training in engineering and mechanic arts and promote research,
extension, and production in these areas in consonance with the
general objectives of the University. |
OBJECTIVES |
|
1. To teach students the rudiments
of agriculture and basic engineering sciences so that they could
competently identify and solve problems in agriculture and industry
2. To instill in the students a sense of awareness of the need
for agro-industrial development through the application of engineering
principles and a desire to contribute towards fulfilling such
needs.
3. To provide service courses in engineering and related fields
in support of the overall program
of the University
4. To develop the students' personal traits such as leadership
potential, civic and environmental
consciousness, work appreciation so that
when they graduate, they will be assets to the country

BS Agricultural
Engineering
The five-year Bachelor of Science in Agricultural
Engineering covers four major course divisions namely: Soil and
Water Management; Farm Power and Machinery; Crop Processing and
Rural Electrification and Farm Structures and Environmental Control.
As such, it is considered one of the more versatile courses as
it embraces practically all other engineering courses/disciplines.
Requirements for graduation include the completion of all academic
requirements and a thesis which should be completed in ten (10)
semesters and one summer. |
| Applied Technology Courses |
|
The Applied Technology Department
offers the following short-term/trade technology courses:
* 5 months Basic Automotive Mechanics Course
* 5 months Advance Automotive Mechanics Course |
