     The present College of Agriculture started as a Technical Agriculture Division of the Mountain State Agricultural College (MSAC) which was converted by virtue of R.A. No. 5923 from the Mountain Agricultural College on June 21, 1969. It was in June 1970 that the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Master of Science in Agriculture were first offered. Prof. Alejandro D. Castro (dec.) was designated as Head of the Technical Agriculture Division.

     A reorganization that was instituted in 1983 dissolved the Technical Agriculture Division by virtue of Administrative Memorandum No. 13, s. 1983 and the Institute of Agriculture, Engineering and Forestry was created with 10 departments, namely Agribusiness and Economics, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Mechanics, Agroforestry, Animal Science, Crop Protection, Forestry, Animal Science, Forestry and Science, Plant Science, Soil Science, and Veterinary Medicine.

     The College of Agriculture was created on May 16, 1984 by virtue of an Administrative Memorandum No. 17, s. 1984. Dr. Eriberto C. Alonzo (dec.) was the first professor designated as the College Dean. Initially , the College had 6 departments, namely: Agricultural Economics, Crop Protection, Plant Science, Soil Science, and Veterinary Science.

     In 1991, the implementation of the 2 year Agroforestry in Curriculum was handed over to the College of Agriculture from the College of Forestry resulting in the creation of the Department of Agroforestry in 1993. Likewise, in 1992 the Plant Science Department was transformed into two departments: Agronomy and Horticulture. On the other hand, on June 16, 1998, the Department of Entomology and Deparment of Plant Pathology were created from the old Crop Protection Department.

     At present, the College of Agriculture is composed of 9 Departments, namely: Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Management, Agroforestry, Agronomy, Animal Science, Entomology, Extension Education, Horticulture, Plant Pathology, and Soil Science.

     A center of quality education that promotes sustainable agriculture and is responsive and relevant to local, national, and global needs.

MISSION

     To be a premier college on highland agriculture in the Philippines through the offering of programs that empower its clientele with scientific thinking, responsive leadership, entrepreneurial skills, and other appropriate competencies in agriculture and community development.

OBJECTIVES

1. Develop the ability of students for critical thinking and inquiry, research, and extension     activities including professional leadership in agriculture.
2. Train agriculturists who are highly motivated as well as morally and socially responsible.
3. Train agricultural scientists, farm practitioners, managers, and agricultural entrepreneurs .

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

1. Original BPS Form 138 marked "Eligible" and has not been cancelled by other institutions
2. A good scholastic standing
      * For Bachelor of Science in Agriculture; a general average of 80%
      * For Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness, a general average of 80% science and 85%
        in Math subject
      * For Bachelor of Science in Development Communication, a general average of 85%
        english and 85% Filipino.
3. Passed the BSU Admission Test (BSA= 80%, BSAB=80%, and BSDC= 85%)
3. Original Form 138 marked "Eligible" and has not been cancelled by other institutions
4. 2 copies 2x2 ID Picture (full front with white background)
5. A certificate of good moral character
