The International Relations Office (IRO) of Benguet State University is the lead office in facilitating and coordinating international partnerships for the university. The IRO aims to mainstream the university in the global arena, to benefit from mutual partnerships with known universities of the world, as well as with developing universities with excellent niche programs and projects.

Mr. Juan José Gómez Buollosa, Coordinator of Incoming International Students of the University of Huelva (UoH), Spain was hosted by BSU from May 5-9, 2019 as part of an Inter-institutional Agreement between BSU and UoH. During his stay, Mr. Buollosa gave lectures regarding management practices of the International Relations Office and the international mobility programs of UoH to BSU deans, IRO focal persons, students and faculty members of Buguias Campus. 23 visitors from the School of Nursing and Health Sciences of the University of Guam came to BSU on March 22-23, 2019 for a 2-day cultural immersion. The head of delegation, Dr. Lisalinda Natividad (3rd from left), Associate Professor of Social Work and Social Work Field Instruction Coordinator together with Dr. Tricia Lizama (back, 2nd from right) , Associate Professor of Social Work, and Dr. Tressa Diaz (2nd row, 2nd from right), Assistant Professor of Social Work led the students in seeing and experiencing Northern Philippine tourist spots, art, food, songs and dances. Other areas of possible collaboration between the two universities were also discussed.

Students and faculty members from the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Commerce of La Trobe University, Australia were hosted by Benguet State University on January 28, 2019 on a seminar about “Tracking Indigeneity in the Philippines”. The delegation was headed by Dr. Trevor Hogan, the university director of Research, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Thesis Eleven Centre for Cultural Sociology and Philippines-Australia Studies Centre. University officials from the Universidade Nacional Timor Lorosa'e (UNTL), Timor Leste visited BSU last December 13, 2018 for discussions on possible collaborations. The university rector, Professor Dr. Fransisco Miguel Martins (3rd from right) was accompanied by the university Director-general of Administration and Finance Dr. Jacinto Belo (rightmost) and secretary of the office of the Rector, Dr. Célia Horta (leftmost). They were assisted by Mr. Aquiles Guterres, Education Attache and Mr. Pankrasio Silveiro, Immigration Attache and Ms. Miranda Ferreira Lemos da Costa of the Embassy of Timor Leste in the Philippines.
Selected BSU officials and a delegation from Edu-Connect Southeast Asia Association (namely Agriagaia ® Social Enterprise and the National Chung Hsing University), based in Taiwan, met on December 5, 2018 to discuss a possible project proposal for submission to a funding agency.
Visitors from Chung Shan Medical University-Department of Nutrition, Taiwan came to BSU last December 7, 2018 to talk about possible collaborations with the College of Home Economics and Technology (CHET). A delegation from Ha Giang Province, Vietnam, headed by His Excellency Nguyễn Văn Son (5th from left), Vice-secretary and Chairman of Ha Giang Provincial People’s Committee, had a campus tour at Benguet State University on November 21, 2018. The delegation came to Benguet to sign a Sisterhood Agreement with the provincial government, simultaneously with the province’s foundation anniversary celebration.
Dr. Professor Raimundas Rukuiza, a visiting professor from Aleksandras Stulginskis University, Lithuania made a courtesy call to the BSU President upon arrival at the university on October 26, 2018. Dr. Professor Rukuiza conducted a lecture to the students of the College of Engineering and Applied Technology and had several meetings for possible collaboration.

Ten student teachers from various universities in Indonesia arrived on August 3, 2018 as the 6th Batch to take part in the SEA Teacher Project. They are assisted by the College of Teacher Education and will be hosted by the university until August 31, 2018.
