| Five Graduate Students Receive Best Thesis Award 01.23.08 - Joel V. Lubrica |

Five graduate students were given plaques of recognition and a corresponding amount of Php 3000.00 for best dissertation and Php 2000.00 for best thesis during the 2008 University Achievement and Recognition Day last January 10, 2008 . These students completed their degrees during school year 2006-2007. They are Aladin M. Dobinto, Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Management. His research entitled "Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis of the education scenario of Kapangan, Benguet " under the supervision of Dr. Carlos P. Luma-ang suggested a strategic plan to address the identified weaknesses and threats in the municipality of Kapangan 's educational system. Donita K. Simongo, Doctor of Philosophy in Agronomy, earned the best dissertation in the technical category. Her research entitled "Growth, yield and dry matter partitioning of potato genotypes under organic production at La Trinidad , Benguet " under the supervision of Dr. Belinda A. Tad-awan studied seven potato genotypes grown under organic production. Cecile Aguilan-Basawil, Master of Arts in Education in Guidance and Counseling was awarded the best thesis in the social category. Her study "Professional competencies of human resource managers: A guidance perspective for career development " under the supervision of Dr. Leonila R. Sito compared the performance of Human Resource Managers against their age, education, years of experience, trainings attended, type of agency they are in and their position. Ederson G. Bawang, Master of Arts in Physics, is also awarded the best thesis in the social category. His study entitled "Determinants of students' high performance in high school physics " under the supervision of Dr. Joel V. Lubrica determined the influence of student factors, school factors, social, and parent factors on the high performance in Physics of high school students.Esther Josephine D. Sagalla, Master of Science in Agronomy for writing the Best Thesis in the Technical Category entitled "Chipping quality of potato accessions grown organically in different production sites in Benguet " under the supervision of Dr. Belinda A. Tad-awan determined that Balili is a good site for planting organic potatoes intended for processing. |
