Benguet Governor Borromeo P. Melchor hailed Benguet State University (BSU) for its efforts at "establishing an intellectual sanctuary in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) nestled in Benguet."

     As he joined the BSU community in its 90 th year anniversary celebration last month, he encouraged the University to continue what is has started in terms of "ushering the development of agricultural and technical know-how," which is being shared to the farming community in the province and the region as well, and "for designing integrated research and development programs."

     He called on the BSU administrators, faculty and students to do their share in the attainment of the University's vision of becoming a premier state university in the Southeast Asia . "In the same way as our predecessors have boldly met the challenges, continue to battle with whatever constraints and limitations that will beset you in the process," he said.

     He also committed the province's support, saying that the partnership of BSU and the province of Benguet will still go a long way.
