3 BSU Studes Shine in the 1st PASUC National Olympics 2006 The Benguet State University (BSU) has once again proven its excellence in the field of sports when three of its student representatives won several awards during the first Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) National Olympics 2006 held at the Marikina Sports Park, Marikina City last April 17-21. Jerry A. Lindawan, a 3rd year Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEE) student, bagged the gold medal in the 10,000 and 5,000 meter run. He was also silver medalist in the 3,000 meter run. Roman B. Salbino, a 3rd year Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education (BSAE) student, also took home 2 gold medals in the 1,500 meter run and 3,000 steeple chase events, and a silver medal in the 5,000 meter run. Rosselle C. Castillo a 3rd year Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Engineering (BSA Eng'g.) 3rd year student won the gold in the women's division of chess. The Luzon Association of State Universities and Colleges (LASUC) Delegation, which is composed of delegates from BSU, Abra State Institute of Science and Technology (ASIST), and the Ifugao State College of Agriculture and Forestry (ISCAF) emerged as the over-all champion in the 1 st PASUC National Olympics 2006. |
