BSU-AREC Recognized for Technical Support to Solar Powered View Deck
at Burnham Park

     The BSU-Affiliated Renewable Energy Center or AREC was recognized for its technical support to the Solar Energy Demonstration Project at the view deck of Burnham Park on September 2 as part of the project’s inauguration and MOA signing.

     The activity which is a part of the Baguio Centennial Celebration recognized other partners of the project that includes Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation, Motolite, University of the Cordilleras, Sunpower, USAID, ECAP, League of Cities in the Philippines and PELMATP.
AREC formerly known as the Affiliated Non-Conventional Energy Center provided technical support to the project.

     According to AREC Project Manager, Engr. Edgar Molintas, AREC assisted the City of Baguio in the installation and maintenance of the solar power facility in the view deck.
AREC has not only supported the solar-energy demo project in Baguio City but has also partnered with numerous LGUs and NGOs in CAR regarding renewable energy projects such as biogas systems, microhydro project, methane gas plant among others.
