US Ambassador Visits BSU Soccer Team 03.04.09 -JSTabangcura US Ambassador to the Philippines, Kristie A. Kenney visited the Benguet State University on February 28 to personally meet the BSU soccer team coached by US Peace Corps volunteer, Travis Schultz. The BSU soccer team composed of elementary students is the champion of the recently concluded CARAA meet and they will play for CAR in the upcoming Palarong Pambansa. “I’m only a spectator in soccer but it’s a great game, its wonderful exercise, wonderful teamwork, wonderful learning skills and a chance to meet perhaps future champions is very exciting for me,” said Ambassador Kenney. “I would like to thank the Benguet State University for welcoming our Peace Corps volunteer, I’m glad that you have made great use of our volunteer,” she added. BSU president, Dr. Rogelio D. Colting said that the success of the BSU soccer team is an outcome of a partnership between two institutions of two countries working together for a common goal. Ambassador Kenney was welcomed by members of the BSU administrative council. She stayed for a few minutes to play with the team. |
