Lumawig staged at BSU

The play Lumawig was staged at the Benguet State University gymnasium on July 20, 2012 through the partnership of BSU-Center for Culture and the Arts and the Department of Tourism-CAR. Photos show some scenes in the play. Salaco Pampanico and Ingrid Payaket played as Lumawig and Bangan while members of the BSU-CCA performing groups played supporting roles. The play Lumawig is a creation of Mr. Ventura Bitot of Lubon, Tadian (Mountain Province), which was based on his extensive research on Cordillera folk stories. The first edition was performed by high school students of then Lubon Barangay High School in the late 70's.//Photos by Donald C. Besic
