• A
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was forged between Benguet State
University (represented by its President, Dr. Rogelio D. Colting)
and two higher institutions in South Korea, namely: Chungbuk National
University (represented by Dr. Dong Chil Lim, President) and Ju
Seong College (represented by Dr. Sang-gil Jeong, President) on
January 12, 2009 in BSU, La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines.

| • The
MOU between CBNU and BSU states that both parties commit themselves
to a strong institutional partnership promoting academic and socio
cultural changes, and support specifically in the areas of: agriculture,
information technology, bio-technology, English language,environment
and agro-ecotourism. The following may be undertaken through the
following joint activities: 1) Faculty, staff, and researcher exchanges
or visits, 2) student exchange or visits, 3) Sharing of academic
data, information, research results, and resources, and 4) Collaborative
research activities, academic and scientific meetings/conferences/consultations.
While the MOU between JSU and BSU states that both parties agree
to have exchange, training, improvement of professional skill of
BSU and JSU faculties, design and implementation of joint educational
and research programs, selection and direction of students and faculties
from JSU and BSU for study and training in English and Korean language,
and other educational programs of professional training, compensation
for training and housing of the faculties and students, and also
on organization and conduct of cultural and sporting events. |

On
January 19 to 31, 2009 a group of Square dancers from Australia
came to BSU to teach square dance to faculty, staff and Physical
Education students. |

|
On
Feb. 16, 2009, another Memorandum of Agreement was singed between
Benguet State University and Chungbuk National University attached
High School represented by its Principal, Mr. Heung Sik Kim. The
agreement is on Teacher Exchange Program wherein, initially 2 English
Teachers of Benguet State University will go to teach in Chungbuk
High School for one year. |

On
February 5, 2009, a group of officials from Bhutan’s Ministry
of Economic Affairs came for a study tour at the Food Processing
Center and BSU Vegetable Processing Center in coordination with
the Department of Trade in Industry – Benguet Province. |
