ILC welcomes Sungkonghoe University students

Students of Sunghonghoe University of Seoul, South Korea who will take up the Special Program for English Language and Literature (SPELL) offered by the International Language Center (ILC) were welcomed on August 28, 2018 through a program held at the RSDC Canteen.

The new students were given a glimpse of Filipino culture through several pieces performed by the CCA- Rondalla.

“Thank you very much for opting to enroll here in the University for two semesters to enhance your competence in English, I hope that your stay here will not only be spent inside the classrooms but I hope you will find time to look for friends to practice speaking English with,” said VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Kenneth Laruan, to the Korean students.

International Relations Office (IRO) Director, Dr. Darlyn D. Tagarino appreciated the students and inferred that they decided to come to BSU because they have already learned basic English and they want to add more to their knowledge.

The students will be in the University for two semesters taking up subjects including Practical Scope in English, Community Immersion, Purposive Communication, Study and Thinking Skills, Humanities and World Literature, Interpersonal Communication, Community Immersion, Effective Speech, Writing in the Discipline, English Phonology and Morphology, and Speech and Stage Arts in addition to language tutorial classes at the ILC.//JST
