Benguet State University scholars of the Expanded Students’ Grants-in-Aid Program for Poverty Alleviation (ESGP-PA) was adjudged champion in the group category while first runner-up in the individual category in Season two of the Cordillera Got Talent. It was held on July 27, 2017 at the Hotel Supreme, Baguio City. The activity was in line to this year’s 30th celebration of the Cordillera with the theme, “CAR@30: A Celebration of Unity”.

Ian Cayas, team leader for the group category said that they did not expect to be the champion and they just did their best during their presentation. The group won P15,000 as cash prize.

Their winning presentation, a theatrical play depicts the heroic story of Apo Anno who was sent by Kabunian to the different provinces of Cordillera to learn, share and unite the different ethnolinguistic groups in the region.

Danuel P. Angyatao, Bachelor of Science in Forestry student took the first runner-up for the individual category after his rendition of the song, ”Ili ay Cordillera” and brought home P8,000 as cash prize.

Meriam P. Angwani, Project Development Assistant of BSU-ESGP-PA, said that this kind of activity helps the students boost their confidence and a way of exposing their talents outside the university.

The event was also participated by Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC), Abra State Institute of Science and Technology (ASIST), Apayao State College (ASC), Ifugao State University (IFSU) and Kalinga State University (KSU). //OSS
