SUBJECT: ADDENDUM GUIDELINES FOR MID-YEAR TERM 2020, SY 2019-2020 ENROLLMENT

In consideration of the circumstances surrounding the suspension of the conduct of in-person classes for Second Semester, SY 2019-2020, limited access of students to educational resources during the COVID-19 community quarantine, and the desire of the University to extend humanitarian consideration as regards the financial obligations of students, the following guidelines on enrollment of course(s) (then called subject(s)) for Mid-year Term 2020, SY 2019-2020 are herein setforth:

1. Re-enrollment for Mid-year Term 2020, SY 2019-2020 of the following:
1.1. interested students to graduate as of Mid-year Term 2020 in the undergraduate level and post graduate level who obtained a mark of PR in their course(s) enrolled as of Second Semester, SY 2019-2020;
1.2. continuing students in the post graduate level.

This shall amend Item No. 3 of Office Memorandum No. 62, s. 2020 (“3. Graduating students who were given a Pr grade during the second semester of SY 2019-2020 need not re-enroll this mid-year term.”).

2. Deferment of payment of accumulated Tuition and Other School Fees (TOSF) (Second Semester, SY 2019-2020 TOSF balance plus Mid-year Term 2020, SY 2019-2020 assessed fees) of students enrolled and with outstanding balance during the Second Semester, SY 2019-2020 and who will enroll for Mid-year Term 2020 in the undergraduate level and Graduate School level. Deadline of payment of accumulated fees will be on or before July 7, 2020.
2.1. No clean-up of enrollment shall be made notwithstanding absence of down payment upon enrollment. But accumulated fees must be paid on or before July 7, 2020.
2.2. For students with assessed fees, payment of fees upon enrollment is optional on their part.
2.3. Waiver of TOSF cannot be made considering that BSU, as a government entity is subject to accounting and auditing rules. Hence, deferment is resorted to as a form of assistance to alleviate financial constraints of students.

3. Collection of unpaid balance of students as of Second Semester, SY 2019-2020 for students who will no longer enroll for Mid-year Term 2020 will be as follows:
3.1. For graduates as of Second Semester, SY 2019-2020, unpaid balance will be paid upon processing of clearance;
3.2. For continuing students, unpaid balance will be included in their Tuition and Other School Fees (TOSF) upon their next enrollment.

4. For students in the Open University, regular schedule of payment of fees will still be followed.

For reference, guidance and compliance.
