Pres Comila Graces Groundbreaking for CN Building

BSU President Felipe Salaing Comila led the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the three-storey College of Nursing building construction on February 9, 2023 at the BSU La Trinidad Campus.

In his message, President Comila expressed gratitude that efforts to establish infrastructure and upgrade facilities for education needs are now “operational.”

“This is what we call WISDOM, a Well Instituted Structure to Drive Operational Mark, and the mark of nursing is health,” said President Comila and hoped the college will have more buildings in the future to accommodate more nursing students. The project also addresses the facility needs of the College of Nursing, which aims to provide a strong academic and professional foundation for the practice of nursing.

Along with President Comila, the lowering of the time capsule to commence the construction of the additional CN building was facilitated by La Trinidad Vice-Mayor Roderick C. Awingan, Vice-President for Administration and Finance Atty. Allan Casaldo Sacpa, Executive Assistant Atty. Andres Arnold Wadingan Lampacan, Planning and Development Office Director Melvin John Aromin, College of Nursing Dean Vicente Panagan Jr., and Pastor Sam B. Galino, who also led the prayer and dedication of the soon-to-rise building.

CN Dean Vicente G. Panagan, Jr. also expressed appreciation to everyone who worked for the 25M worth of infrastructure project approval and establishment. According to him, the project fulfills the realization of BSU’s goal of providing excellent nursing education in the Cordillera Administrative Region and the country.

“The building is a great help for us to continue to maintain the quality of nursing education provided by the BSU College of Nursing,” he said.

“This (building) will serve as an inspiration as well for the other nursing schools in the region to put up their new building in response to the current needs of nurses for the Filipinos,” added College Secretary Jude L. Tayaben.

CN Faculty and staff, other BSU employees, and nursing students also attended the event.//EMBawayan
