BSU Supports CHED’s Padyak in KSU

Benguet State University officials and employees headed by President Felipe Salaing Comila joined Kalinga State University (KSU) officials in welcoming CHED Commissioner, J. Prospero “Popoy” E. De Vera during his visit to KSU on March 2-4, 2022. This is also to support the CHED’s Padyak activity at KSU.

Pres. Comila and other BSU officials and employees attended the Cultural night held at the KSU Gym where they witnessed the adoption of CHED Chair De Vera as an adopted son of Kalinga, and was named “Alingag” which means “to echo.” The Congressman, the Governor, and the mayor of the Local Government of Kalinga were also present during the event. Several Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Kalinga showcased their cultural presentations through songs and dances.  Selected students also shared their testimonies on inclusive access to quality education through RA 10931 and its impact on their studies, families, and lives.  

 On March 3, BSU Officials traveled from Bulanao, Tabuk to Lubuagan, Kalinga with the KSU President and the CHED Chair to meet the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) grantees of the area.  From Lubuagan, they proceeded to Buscalan, Tinglayan, and  CHED Chair De Vera interviewed another set of TES grantees at the foot of the mountain going to Apo Whang-od’s village.   

On March 4, delegates from Benguet State University participated in the cycling activity of KSU with the theme “Padyak to Heritage Village in Naneng.”  The route started from Bulanao to Bantay, passing through Tumingan going to the Heritage Village of Naneng, Tabuk City. The route is about forty-eight kilometers.  The bikers had their lunch at Naneng Heritage Village, and a program was also held.  The BSU delegation of bikers was composed of Bryan Bangnan, Ferdinand Ducat, Leo Kimbungan, Kerewin Reyes, Genaro Saliyoc, Ezrael Salming, Donato Wanawan, and Richard Kinnud.  Other participants in this event were from Apayao State College and from other HEIs in Kalinga.//GGAblaza
