BSU Intrams 2023 Marks End of COVID-19 Hiatus; CHK Emerged as Champ

With the theme, “Bridging Sports in Us: Revelry More than Rivalry,” the Benguet State University Intramurals 2023 finally transpired last March 20-23 after a three-year hiatus brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In line with this, the College of Human Kinetics emerged as the overall champion, dominating the rest of the competing campuses and colleges with a total score of 626 points. The College of Engineering garnered second place with 197 points followed by the College of Agriculture with its 165 points.

The intramurals featured various sports competitions, such as basketball, volleyball, football, swimming, and track and field, and may others

To officially start the event, National Coach Ryan Batinay along with National Players Junell Mark Bautista, Jorjane Aludos, and Rudzma Abubakar who initiated the oath-taking ceremony led the torch lighting at the university oval after the parade.

CEO and Head Coach of Team Lakay Mr. Maquez Tacio Sangiao then followed it with his inspirational talk, sharing his experiences while motivating young athletes and people to raise the Philippine flag higher in the global sports arena.

The sport event provided not only an opportunity and avenue for students, faculty members, and staff to come together and celebrate the gift of skills and talents but also to demonstrate that sports can be a unifying force that transcends rivalries and promotes camaraderie and sportsmanship.//CANapiloy, OGDacocotJr.
