BSU Buguias Mulls BSDRRCM Opening

The Benguet State University-Buguias Campus College of Criminal Justice Education is conducting a feasibility study for the possible offering of a degree program in Bachelor of Science in Disaster Risk Reduction and Crisis management (BSDRRCM) at the Buguias campus. 

As part of the feasibility study, BSU Buguias campus officials and faculty members conducted a benchmarking activity visiting the following: Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC) in Quezon City, Metro Manila, National Forensic Science Training Institute (NFSCTI), National Jail Management and Penology Training Institute (NJMPTI), National Fire Training Institute (NFTI) at Calamba, Laguna, and National Police College (NPC) at Silang, Cavite on March 9 and 10. The benchmarking activity aims to visit the facilities, equipment, and curriculum of the training institutes needed for the study.

BSU Buguias Executive Dean Florendo P. Comila and Dr. Virgilio C. Ablaza led the benchmarking activity in coordination with PPSC President Dr. Ricardo F. De Leon and Planning Officer Mr. Frederick U. Deldacan.

BSU-Buguias campus opened the College of Criminal Justice Education and has celebrated its Criminology week last December 2021. Dr. Virgilio C. Ablaza, Special Assistant to the President in Criminology Program also launched his first-ever book “Practical Guide in Doing Qualitative Criminological Research” last February 23-24, 2022 at the BSU Main Library. //AKCariño
